The thing is… seeing our desktop as we want it every time we switch our pc on is a norm now. And should anything appear unusual, we notice it like a reflex. So, not only a messy desktop offers a displeasing look and causes cognitive stress, it’s also adding to your ineffectiveness. Think about that.
HOW CAN A DESKTOP CHANGE FROM NORMAL
Now, there can be a million reasons why your desktop can deviate from its normal look. Why am I contributing a paragraph to it then? The reason is same as getting vaccination. You develop immunity before you get the disease. Its to prevent the mistake from ever happening.

Know that the methods mentioned below are to reset your windows desktop back to its standard appearance. Now, simply follow these steps:
- Open Settings (from the windows icon or by pressing Win+I.)
- Choose System settings.

Let’s head over to taskbar. Mostly, taskbars are cluttered with unnecessary icons that can be simply accessed through the desktop. One last thing to do in taskbar would be to move all the icons to middle, which will give a windows 11 like feeling. Remember to uncheck “Lock the taskbar”. Then, again right click on taskbar and in the options of “Toolbars”, check “Links”. Two faded lines will appear in the taskbar. Drag them within the taskbar to move the icons in the middle and then again check “Lock the taskbar.” Finally, uncheck “Links.”
